As Gabriel Fauré wrote, "The desire for non-existent things, perhaps; this is the realm of music." SILENT WOOD, DEEP RIVER weaves together diverse cultural perspectives on humans' relationship to nature.  Insert Music Here hopes to provide our musicians and audience members a space to openly reflect on the past and dream for the future of our natural world.

From Dvořák's beloved homage to the Bohemian forest to Gabriela Lena Frank's musical portrait of Arguedas's classic novel, to two new pieces for Insert Music Here, we are so excited to bring SILENT WOOD, DEEP RIVER to audiences across California in this continuing project.
